The Hiking Friends Ludwigshafen/RH. e.V. offer several PW (permanent hiking trails) in cooperation with the city of Bad Dürkheim.
The circular hiking trail leads to the Limburg monastery ruins. In the Middle Ages, the Reich insignia, the greatest treasure of the Holy Roman Empire, were said to have been kept in the Benedictine monastery Limburg. Here, the four Sundays of Advent were set for the entire Christian West. The atmosphere of the monastery ruins can also be enjoyed on guided tours, at operas, theaters, and concerts of the "Limburg Summer" or in the monastery garden of the restaurant.
The routes are marked both forwards and backwards. The description is of the forward route. On this route, there are 2 self-checks attached to the main signposts.

Roadbook
After leaving the Tourist Information, go left and follow Schlossgartenstraße into the spa park. After crossing the Isenach, follow the path to the right into the spa park. After a few meters, you will reach a fork and take the left path past the statue "Sie und Er" (She and He), gently ascending to St. Ludwig Church, where you meet Kurgartenstraße. After a few meters, go left past Ludwigsplatz and follow Kurgartenstraße into the pedestrian zone. After a few meters, Weinstraße Nord comes from the right. Here, keep left and reach Römerplatz with numerous options for refreshments. Römerplatz leads directly into Römerstraße, which you continue straight along. Before you reach the city museum (cultural center Haus Cartoir), turn left into Strauchelgasse. Follow this slightly uphill until you reach a cross street - Leiningerstraße - where you turn right. At the end of it, turn a few meters right into Gaustraße, then turn left to follow Limburgstraße. You pass the Vier Jahreszeiten wine cooperative, continuing straight until you reach the cemetery. Turn left there and after a few meters at a fork, follow the left path - Limburgstraße - gently ascending approx. 500 m uphill. Near the end, you see a narrow path with 2 marking posts, which you follow upwards. You now walk right, a few meters beside Luitpoldweg, an access road to Limburg. On both sides, you see signs "Hochzeitspfad" (Wedding Trail). Shortly after, cross the street to the left and follow a path gently ascending for about 1.1 km, always parallel to the road on your right and ignoring all left and right turnoffs. From this path, you have wonderful views of Limburg. This path then merges back into the access road to Limburg, and after a few meters you reach the Fünfguldenberg parking lot. There is a main signpost with the number BAÜ.080.1. Pay attention here to self-check and route separation. While the 8 km route goes off to the right towards Limburg, the 12 km and 22 km routes go to the left. After a few meters, take the second small path to the right with the sign „Eppental“. Follow this small path about 1.1 km through wooded area and reach the Naturfreundehaus in Eppental. Turn right there and walk on a small path beside the wide path towards Schlangenweiher. Shortly before the Schlangenweiher, you reach the main signpost BAÜ.225.1. Here is the route separation of 12 and 22 km. The 22 km route turns left into the small Eppental and follows the marking „Pfalz Pfade Drei Eichen – RW Schlangenweiher – Murrmirnichtviel“ exclusively on the loop. The 12 km route goes a few meters straight ahead to the main signpost BAÜ.226.1. On it is the sign Ruine Hardenburg 2 km. This narrow path slowly climbs, passes a blue bench, and winds along the slope. Pay attention to self-check at the main signpost BAÜ.061.1. Just before the castle, you reach the Lindenklause (open from February to October, Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tel.: 06322-67777), where depending on opening times you can eat and drink well and inexpensively. Worthwhile is the view of Hardenburg from here. In front of Hardenburg, follow a paved path down to Schlossberg street. A few meters after a barrier, turn right into a narrow path. Follow this for about 1 km with wonderful views of the Hardenburg district with its namesake castle. At a hairpin turn, go left down stairs and you reach the Hardenburg cemetery. At its end, turn right and follow a narrow path that leads into Mühlbergweg. At its end, turn left into Schlangentaler Weg. After a few meters, you reach a crossroads and continue straight along Hausener Weg. At the bridge crossing the Isenach, turn right into a hiking trail alongside Herzogsweiher. At the end of the pond, climb several steps and reach Bürgermeister-Gropp-Straße, into which you turn left. After a few meters — here you meet the 8 km route again — turn left into a small path (sign Pfalz Museum) that leads down several stairs and goes under federal road B 37. At the end, you reach Herrmann-Schäfer-Straße and see the Traminerklause inn on the left. Pay attention to self-check at the main signpost BAÜ.217.1 here. Turn right and follow the street until a small bike and pedestrian path turns right, which you follow. You reach a traffic light, cross the street straight ahead, and continue along the bike and pedestrian path next to B 37 for about 950 m until you reach Zumstein winery. You have to go around a roundabout and enter Gerberstraße, which you follow towards the city center. The Isenach is a constant companion for you. You keep walking along Gerberstraße until you reach stairs. Go up these stairs, cross the traffic light, and continue along Weinstraße Nord until you reach a fork. Here, follow Kurbrunnenstraße to the right and reach your destination after a few meters — the Tourism Information.
