Dripstone cave trail

From the station, we cross the tracks heading towards Bödigheim Castle. In front of the castle, we keep right and follow the village street, where from here the marking can be found, towards Aussiedlerhöfe/Eberstadtsiedlung. After a few hundred meters, we leave the street and turn right onto a paved agricultural field path that crosses the open field and offers a wonderful view over the hilly landscape of the Bauland. A gentle descent follows into a small stream valley. We cross the Gewesterbach and enter a small forest area. Here, a street must be crossed. At the next fork, we keep left and follow the marking. We now leave the forest path and follow the street turning right for a few hundred meters. In a left curve, we leave the street by turning right onto a forest path but immediately keep left again to continue following the marked path. After the gravel path turns back into a paved path, we turn left and walk towards the quarry. At the street, we turn left, follow the street for a short distance, and then immediately turn right towards Eberstadt dripstone cave. Now we follow the connecting road between the dripstone cave and Bödigheim. The path crosses the Gewesterbach again and then leads once more through the hilly landscape of the Bauland with an attractive mix of forest and field areas. Following the connecting road, we soon reach the starting point of the hike.
