This hike impresses with wonderfully idyllic paths and meadow trails along streams and scenic ridges. Time and again, we enjoy wide views over the valleys of the Saargau and into the Hunsrück. We have extended the dream loop around the Tawern temple district. From the impressive Roman temple complex on the former trade route, we have an unobstructed view towards Trier. In the village of Fisch, we can finally try the local Viez (apple wine). Delight throughout the entire route.
From the parking lot at the fire station in Mannebach, we follow the main road out of the village. We cross the country road and ascend straight to the forest edge. There we reach a hiking bench with a beautiful view of the village on the left. Sharp right, we take a path that leads us down to the sports park. At the parking lot, we keep right and cross the country road again after about 100 m. In the forest, we ascend a bit then turn left downhill. At the crossing path, we go briefly to the right and then immediately turn left onto a path. We pass a bench with a view of the valley and cross a road and the Mannebach stream. We follow the idyllic stream for about 100 m upstream before turning right twice to reach the opposite forest. There we ascend left to the Hinkelsgret. In the shallow cave, the people of Mannebach hid during the Thirty Years' War from the Swedes. Higher up, we keep left and reach open fields with views of the village Kümmern.
