Hello! I’m Talpina, the Alpine mole.
I have always lived in the Valle di Cavedine and know its history from the earliest times. My special paws allow me to move underground, and thanks to this I have made many discoveries. Together we will venture on a trail full of surprises, among corners of history and nature to explore.
The Valle di Cavedine is located in the Valle dei Laghi, halfway between Riva del Garda and Trento, in a quiet corner of Trentino. We will take a dive into the past of human history following its traces, from prehistory to today. We will learn about the territory and how the glacier that covered the valley 20,000 years ago shaped the landscape. We will walk and play outdoors.
Follow me! It will be a fantastic adventure!

I’ll be your guide in a trek full of surprises, and together we’ll explore some special places of nature and archaeology.
Before we set off on our adventure, I’ll tell you where we are: we’re in the Valle di Cavedine, a side valley of the Valle dei Laghi that lies halfway between Riva del Garda and Trento.
Just think that, until 20,000 years ago, a huge tongue of ice covered the whole of this valley all the way to Lake Garda. When the ice melted, the geological changes it made had turned the landscape into something unique.
Follow me! We’ll have a wonderful adventure!

A short itinerary, also suitable for young children, accompanied by an adult and carried in a baby carrier or baby carrier backpack.
Roadbook
You can start either from Piazza Italia, a departure which allows you to take a 10-minute walk also in the center of the village of Cavedine, or from Piazza Garibaldi, directly in front of the trailhead. Below we describe the latter:
After parking the car near the church of Santa Maria Assunta (in Piazza Garibaldi), we cross via Carnion and enter a flat dirt country road. After some gentle curves, we arrive at the first point of interest: the "Roman spring." Shortly after, on the left rises the Assunta shrine. The road, initially flat, increases in slope and presents some rocky outcrops in a short stretch. At the end of the short climb, you can admire the Cosina and, for those who wish, a little further on there is the possibility to climb on an equipped wall, accessible also to children. The trail continues flat, with some panoramic points on the Dolomites, until reaching the legendary Carega del Diaol. The route continues until it connects to the provincial road. We cross and follow the main road towards Cavedine. Finally, at the first hairpin bend, we take via Monte Gaggio which leads to Piazza Garibaldi.
