Dieksee Circular Route

The tour conveniently starts at Malente train station and leads through a harmonious topography. The gentle hills of the region are constant companions as the hike alternates between lakeside paths, shady forests, and open meadows. With only 39 meters of total ascent, the trail offers maximum enjoyment of nature and is ideal for relaxation seekers and families.

Two striking water highlights particularly characterize the path:

The Spiegelteiche ponds: These waters were used for fish farming as early as the Middle Ages. Today, they are a scenic jewel because their calm surface perfectly reflects the surrounding beech forests, so that on windless days the boundary between above and below visually blurs.

The “Fountain of Broken Hearts”: This natural Kneipp facility, fed by a fresh spring, offers therapeutic refreshment. Its poetic name gives the hike an unforgettable emotional charm that underscores Malente's tradition as a Kneipp spa town.

The flexibility of the route is a great advantage: a picturesque wooden bridge marks the transition to Langensee. From there, there is easy access to the famous 5-lake boat tour (April to October), which offers a fascinating change in perspective from land to water.

The finale of the circuit leads directly through the Malente wildlife park. Here hikers experience a special closeness to nature: since fallow deer roam freely on the grounds, visitors can observe the animals at close range on the designated paths. In addition, red deer, wild boar, and a wide variety of birds can be spotted. This immediate and authentic insight into the local wildlife is the crowning conclusion of the circular route.
