This short hike leads from Col du Coq (~1400m) to Dent de Crolles (2062m), one of the four 2000-meter peaks in the Chartreuse Massif. The ascent is via the Trou du Glas, an entrance to the several-kilometer-long cave system beneath Dent de Crolles. A short visit to the entrance area is worthwhile, especially for cooling off in summer. After the Trou du Glas, you pass a first steep section equipped with steel cables for holding on, then two narrow rock crevices and a second steep section with cables. Once on the plateau, a gentle ascent follows to the summit cross, from where you have a magnificent view over the Chartreuse, the Isère valley, and the Chaîne de Belledonne. The descent is via the shorter and steeper Pas d'Oeille path.
