A hike along the Dechsendorfer Weiher and some forest ponds, where the local pond keepers raise Franconian carp not only for the Sunday table. The destination and turnaround point is the Gasthof Zehnthof in Hemhofen, where the regional specialty is offered in all months with an "R".

The hike leads along ponds, reeds, and through tall pine forest. It is therefore especially an experience for bird lovers but also suitable for families with children, as the path is wide and well maintained. There is always something to discover and marvel at.
Author’s recommendation
Especially beautiful in the cold season, as good paths and carp for lunch entice.

Safety information
Attention: In summer, there is a risk of blue-green algae in the pond, so swimming must be avoided. Please observe the current notices at the kiosk of the bathing facilities.Roadbook
The path runs along the public natural swimming area on the eastern edge of the pond and then on a well-developed forest trail through the woods to Hemhofen. There is a good place to stop at the Gasthaus Zehnthof. The return route initially takes a slightly more easterly route through the forest and then passes the campsite and beach on the west bank of the lake back to the Gasthof Forsthaus.

Not recommended.Directions
Coming from Nuremberg or Würzburg, the best way is to take the A to the exit "Dechsendorf / Erlangen West". From there, follow state road 2240 about 1 km east (towards Erlangen) and turn left about 100m after the traffic light into "Brühlstrasse". The next street to the right is "Naturbadstrasse," which you follow for 1 km until you see the Dechsendorfer Weiher on your left and straight ahead the Gasthaus Forsthaus.Parking
You can park there. It is also our destination later for a good cup of coffee to finish. (If no space is available, follow the street 200m further, on the left side there are plenty of parking spaces)Coordinates
