Selected alternatives for you

A fairly simple loop that from Campoé in about an hour takes us to the top of the Croce di Pizzallo, a modest viewpoint over Lake Segrino, Mount Rai, and the Valassina valley.

In about another hour, you return by completing a loop to the starting point passing through the Tre Sassi mule track.

From Campoé, you pass the Jungle Park and reach the end of the paved road. You cross the picnic park and take the mule track that descends into the woods. After about ten minutes, at the first fork, turn left, continue descending and reach the crossroads where you go straight ahead and in a few minutes arrive at Cascina da Enco. You pass it and continue with a moderate climb. At the fork, go right following the sign for Croce di Pizzallo, reach another fork and turn right again. This is the steepest section, which takes about twenty minutes (one hour from the start) to the Cross. From the cross, follow the path westward, descend into the woods and reach a clearing in about ten minutes. Slightly to the left, the path continues on the other side of the clearing, widening and becoming a proper mule track. You follow it, pass the Tre Sassi, where there are some stone tables and a fountain. The path follows the ridge and skirts some private properties. Just before, there is a detour (optional) for those who want to visit the Buco delle Ginestre (caution: it is a very deep sinkhole). Follow the path again into the woods and you can choose which route to take to return to the starting point. I do not recommend the one I took; it's in very poor condition. Better to take the first fork on the left and rejoin the main outbound path at the first fork.
