The Lessinia abruptly drops into the valley of the Adige, which at this height is called Val Lagarina. The varied hike leads scenic right along this edge and finally to the panoramic summit Corno d’Aquilio, 1545 m. From there we look 1400 meters down into the Adige Valley. In the distance, Lake Garda, Monte Baldo and the Piccole Dolomiti can be seen, on clear days also the Apennines. Right at our feet lies the Lessinia with its pretty villages. The asphalt path leads above the parking lot and through the hamlet of Coste. At a steep right curve, we turn left towards the Agriturismo Le Coste (signpost »Passo Rocca Pia«) and walk past buildings and manure heaps. At the forest edge, we follow the usual signpost to the left into the forest. Barely ascending, we reach a fork at an information board. Here we go straight (the right fork), although there is a nice marking on the left. Shortly thereafter, the path ascends more steeply and red-white markers accompany us again.
