Hike from one of the most famous beaches of Corfu to the top of the hill where an old church is built overlooking the middle of Corfu and the Ionian Coast.
From the right edge of the beach of Glyfada starts a path that goes up between dense vegetation to the top of the adjacent hill. Passing through a gate that always remains open, we meet the road that descends towards the beach of Myrtiotissa, meeting after a while the old monastery with the same name (Panagia i Myrtidiotissa). Then a dirt road climbs the steep slope of the hill of Vatos, until it meets the beginning of the old path that climbs to the top meeting higher vegetation. At the top stands the old chapel of Agios Georgios and the view is panoramic over the west coast and central Corfu. A short descent from the same path leads us to the beginning of another path that descends towards the settlement of Kokkinogia of Vatos. On this side of the mountain the vegetation changes and becomes denser. Reaching the road after a while a horizontal path leads to the start of the route.
