Corfu Paths CC06 - Central Corfu settlements loop
Moderately difficult route that connects three villages of central Corfu with several points of interest of exceptional beauty and historical monuments.
This route starts relatively low from the bus stop in Kynopiastes. It follows a road which relatively quickly gains altitude through a moderate slope, which it follows until, it meets the village of Agioi Deka, which it passes by entering a well-marked path.
After a short climb the path meets a concrete road. Continuing uphill at the end of the route is the small church of the Prophitis Ilias. Here we enjoy the unobstructed view of the Ionian Sea and the settlements of Agios Mattheios, Pentatios and Kato Garouna. From here begins the descent of the route, which requires attention in the first meters, but the passability is quickly restored and its pleasant continuation through olive groves and cultivated fields reaches the village of Ano Garouna.
The path follows the asphalt going downhill and on our right hand we find a dirt road that takes us near the settlement of Kamara. Exiting the settlement the route re-enters the asphalt road and moves in a direction to the right. Continuing it reaches the signs which led us to our initial climb.
