A walk along the Colfosco high trail promises unadulterated hiking pleasure: from airy meadow balconies and carpets of flowers, you can get a constant view of the eerily grandiose northern drop of the Sella from a safe distance, so to speak. Once you reach the Jimmy hut at the foot of the Cir peaks, only the sober-minded will board the gondolas of the Plans Frara cable car to Colfosco. True connoisseurs, on the other hand, also walk the high-altitude trail on the descent and are thus rewarded with new atmospheric images in changing light conditions.
From the church square in Colfosco, take trail no. 4 north up to the district of Longiarü, to the end of the asphalt road at the entrance to the Edelweiss Valley and there to the parking lot at the valley station of the Col Pradat cable car. Continue on the dirt road for another 100 m, then turn right at the next junction and take footpath no. 3, under the Col Pradat lift, eastwards up into the forest. There, to the right of the lift, the trail winds up to the northeast to the shoulder of Col Pradat, 2030 m, with cable car mountain station and Col Pradat hut (Ütia Pradat). Descend briefly northwards on the road across meadows to the Col Pradat saddle (fork). Do not continue on the road, but follow the marked slope path no. 4A straight ahead and northwestwards into the back of the Edelweiss valley. There to the main path no. 4 and follow it over scree in hairpin bends to the left (south) down to a junction. Turn right and follow trail no. 4, crossing a mountain pine slope, up and down
