A particularly beautiful hike, especially on the ascent, through beech forest, followed by 70 meters of rock with new and reliable chain protection.
Monte Penna is one of the highest peaks of the Ligurian Apennines and offers beautiful views in all directions on clear days. This route combines a shady hike with a small climb.

Safety information
Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required, although the climbing is nowhere exposed. Those who cannot meet these should also use the simple descent path for the ascent.

Roadbook
From the forest path next to the road at Rif. Casermette del Penna, a well-marked beautiful path leads upwards to the pass between the rock pinnacle Pennino and the summit structure of Monte Penna. This is followed by climbing with chain protection up to just before the summit. The descent leads into the forest to Passo dell'Incisa, then right on a wide path that is impossible to miss back to the starting point.
