The just under 5 km long circular route leads us to the idyllic Göritzen spring near Sonnefeld east of Coburg.
On our route, we mostly walk through the forest, occasionally passing open landscapes with views of the meadows extending between the woodland areas.
Surrounded by trees, we walk on the gravel path and have the opportunity to leave everyday life behind and take deep breaths. On the way, we come across an information board about the surrounding wetland biotope, which serves as a habitat for numerous animals.
A nature trail leads us from the gravel path to the Göritzen spring, whose facility with a shelter has existed since 1961 and was renovated in 2011. The picnic tables and the small shelter with a table and benches offer us the opportunity to take a cozy break.
According to the saying written on the shelter, we also take a relaxed pause: "Time and life cannot be bound by the clock, so you, guest, do not hurry away. Rest with me, with a good drink – and do not look at the hand of the clock!"

The circular route E6 is well signposted.
Our route starts west of Sonnefeld uphill into the forest, always following the signs towards the Göritzen spring.
To reach the spring, we take a small detour at about halfway through our route (around 2.8 km) via a nature trail, which is signposted but easy to miss. After about 100 m, we reach the idyllic facility of the Göritzen spring and the shelter with seating options.
After a pleasant rest, we return to the main hiking trail and follow the further route alternating gently downhill and uphill. Various flowers bloom along the path depending on the season.
On the right side, we still encounter a clearing where we can catch a view of the Coburg region. Then it continues along our circular route, where we orient ourselves by the signs towards Sonnefeld.
