The circular hike starts at the mountain station of the Kies-Mettmen aerial cableway. From there it goes past the Berghotel Mettmen along the left side of the lake. At the beginning, the path is paved, then it becomes a wide gravel path and leads to the back part of the lake. The way back on the other side follows a narrow hiking trail. At the end, you cross the dam of the Garichti Lake and can enjoy the view over the lake towards Kärpf or towards the valley and the Glärnisch massif.
