Mount Zatta (Sàtta in Ligurian) is a massif in the Ligurian Apennines reaching 1,404 meters above sea level[1] and constitutes a section of the Apennine watershed between the Sturla valley, Taro valley, the Graveglia valley and the Vara valley (the latter two are tributaries to the Ligurian Sea).
Geography
The summit of the Mount Zatta massif consists of a long undulating ridge, crossed by an easy ridge trail; at the outer edges of this ridge are Mount Zatta di Ponente (m 1355) and Mount Prato Pinello (m 1390). Between the two ends rises the main peak, Mount Zatta di Levante (m 1404). The southern slope is steep and rocky, while the northern slope, towards the Bocco pass, has a gentler gradient and is covered by a large beech forest.
