Celtic Path Scheyern

Our hike begins at the parking lot near the monastery. From here, we head uphill towards the east, turn right onto the gently ascending Hochstraße, and then also turn right onto Fernhager Straße. We arrive in Fernhag, leave the paved road, and take the path merging half-right. It leads us through the landscape to the field cross at the edge of the forest, the "Stepper Cross." From here, we follow the sign to the Celtic rampart half-left along the old local connection Scheyern-Jetzendorf and, after 1.2 kilometers, see the Celtic rampart sign again on the left side. At an information board, we can learn about the extent of the 2,500-year-old rampart and walk around the rampart on the wall crown. After a short break, we start the return journey, follow the signs, and at the fork near Fernhag, keep left to reach the Benedictus path. Along the way, we can see the 2,300-year-old burial mounds. We reach the edge of the forest, from where we get a great view into the valley of the Schnatterbach. Via the poplar avenue, we return to the monastery estate, pass the island pond, and shortly after are back at our starting point.
