Starting from the Case Bortot parking lot, take the path to the Settimo Alpini refuge (CAI trail 501). After about 15 minutes, take the left deviation to Forcella Mompiana (CAI trail 506) and continue up to the Col Forongol saddle (elevation 961). About fifty meters further, take the right deviation (signpost) to Casera dei Pez. Continue descending slightly through the forest and shortly reach the hut (open but not supervised). Continue through the clearing in front of the hut for about fifty meters, then the path clearly turns right and continues fairly steeply through the forest with various bends descending into the Ardo valley until it reaches, through a long traverse, the path to the Settimo Alpini refuge that returns to Case Bortot.

Case Bortot is a locality about ten km from Belluno and is not reachable by public transport.
