The hike to the 300 m vertical cliff at the Genoese Tower Turghiu is one of the most impressive experiences on the "Île de Beauté". Far below us, we hear the roar of the surf and also enjoy a beautiful view of the Gulf of Porto.
From the parking lot, we cross over a clear path to the hiking trail (which starts 50 m above the parking lot on the road). We leisurely hike down to Capu Rossu with the Genoese tower. After fifteen minutes, we pass a gate and shortly after a distinctive rock block, a dilapidated stone hut. In spring, colorful carpets of flowers and cistus bushes delight our eyes, far below a tower-high rocky tooth juts from the sea – pictures like from a brochure. After a good half hour, we reach a threshing floor. Ten minutes later, the path forks in front of a stone house – here to the right (left branches off a coastal path, see return route). After another ten minutes, a path branches off to the right over the rock ridge (easy climbing) – but we stay on the main path (sign). Past a spring, we reach a house with a threshing floor (nice rest area). 100 m later, the path splits: left is the coastal path (our later return route), right leads up to the foot of the rocks and zigzags laboriously over
