The scenic hike is one of the most beautiful you can undertake on Kassandra. It runs along the eastern tip of the peninsula through a varied, hilly landscape and offers exceptional, constantly changing views. Also worth seeing is the chapel Agios Nikolaos, located on a narrow peninsula at the starting point of the tour.
From the small fishing harbor of Agios Nikolaos, we walk back on the asphalt road towards Paliouri and turn left at the first opportunity onto a dirt road. We follow this road closely along the shore; on the right, there are scattered summer houses and huts as well as caravans. On the left, we have a wonderful view of the chapel Agios Nikolaos. We ignore the paths branching off to the right until, after about 1 km, behind a white summer house, we reach a gravelly bay where the path runs between the beach and a pond that usually still contains water in summer. Around the water body, we find the salt plant samphire, which gourmets use to prepare salads. Just behind the water body, a dirt road branches off to the right which we take. We follow it steeply uphill until we reach a cross path, where we turn right. To the north and east, we have wonderful views of Sithonia and, in good visibility, behind it the holy Mount Athos.
