Visit Val d'Aniene
From the end of the Campo Staffi parking lot, descend alongside the ski lift route until you meet a dirt road that enters the forest. When the trees begin to thin, you can see the Campo Ceraso shelter and a watering trough where grazing livestock drinks, standing out in the grass like a small gem. It is a scene full of emotions, bordered on the left by Monte Tarino and on the right by the long ridge of Serra San Michele marking the border with Abruzzo.
Continue turning left (trail sign 651) to bypass the hill and reach a wide channel that gently ascends to the Monna della Forcina pass. Here turn left joining the Alta Via dei Monti Simbruini (trails 694A and 651 AV2) which briefly reenters the forest, crosses Valle le Lisce, and then climbs steeply back to the starting point.

- In the mountains, weather conditions can change very quickly; before the hike consult weather forecasts.
- All the information provided is indicative; moreover, the passability of the routes is strictly linked to environmental changes, often sudden, due to natural phenomena, therefore no responsibility is assumed. Before setting out, check the condition of the route with the Management Body of the Monti Simbruini Natural Park.
- Starting alone is risky; carry your mobile phone and, in any case, consider that some mountain areas may not have signal coverage. It is therefore advisable to always leave indications about your itinerary and approximate return time; also carry a whistle to use in case of emergency to send acoustic signals (a short sound, 2/3 seconds long, repeated six times within a minute and repeated until a response is received).
- Pay attention to the indications and signage you find on the route
- As in all Natural Parks, flowers and botanical essences are protected here as well and must not be picked; photograph them to keep a memory and also leave others the pleasure of admiring them.
