Cadini circular trail
Not that there are no "great landscapes" elsewhere in the Alps, but someone show me more fantastic rock backdrops, more unreal formations than those in the Dolomites. Often, a day trip accompanied by good weather is enough to be captured forever by this dreamland. Therefore, I particularly recommend this wonderful but somewhat demanding tour around the Cadini group to Dolomites beginners. Maybe a new herald will be born among them!
From the valley station of the Col-de-Varda chairlift up to the mountain station near Rif. Col de Varda. From there, 300 m down west along a natural road to a junction. Straight ahead (path no. 116 and 120), then around the mountain edge of Col de Varda to the left into the southwest side of Cima Cadin della Neve. There, gently downhill through alpine rose, larch, and stone pine stands in a southeast direction to the right turnoff of path no. 116 at the lowest point, 1940 m, of the crossing. The road (path no. 120) leads straight up through dwarf pine forest, later on a wide path up to the meadow shoulder of Col de Viero. On the left side of the Maraia hollow through meadows and open conifer forest, past house-sized boulders, uphill northeast to Forc. Maraia, 2101 m, with the Rif. Città di Carpi a little above to the left, 2130 m. From there on path no. 116 gently uphill northwest across the meadows of Cadin di Maraia, later steeply up to Selletta Alta di Maraia, 2375 m.
