Cabane FXB Panossière
We propose here an impressive circular tour that starts at the Mauvoisin reservoir and leads up to the Col des Otanes with a magnificent view of the ice-covered north face of the Combin with the huge Corbassière Glacier; the descent then goes down the other side of the pass to the Panossière Hut (Cabane FXB Panossière) on the moraine ridge above the glacier. For the return to the valley, we then take the path down to Fionnay. The tour is especially beautiful with an overnight stay at the hut – so far away from the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life ...! And being able to enjoy the moods in the evening or early in the morning at the almost Arctic-looking Combin massif is truly an impressive experience.

The path now crosses into the rock basin and you come to the junction of a high-level path into the Mauvoisin valley "Pazagnou". Just behind it you pass the outlet of a large debris flow and climb the opposite flank, furrowed by a few gullies, to the Alp La Tseumette. The continuation winds skillfully through the steep and rocky meadow slopes up into the next rock hollow descending from the Col des Otanes. Over some smoothly polished rock bumps you come to the other side of the cirque, where the path then runs quite straight southwest through scree fields, at the beginning of summer often also some old snowfields, to the broad notch of the Col des Otanes.
