A full-day hike that offers (almost) everything. Rustic huts, rugged rock faces, lush alpine meadows, magnificent panoramas. The path over Windgrube and Kampl becomes a pleasure trail that will be remembered for a long time. However, the steep Hans-Leitner-Steig must be conquered first.
We start this varied hiking tour upstream from one of the two paid parking lots in the Fölz valley. Behind the Alpengasthaus Schwabenbartl, the Hans-Leitner-Steig begins to the right, where we quickly gain altitude. The truly beautifully laid-out trail leads us along narrow paths, with some views towards the Fölzstein, to a forest road. Follow the road to the left around a bend, then again left onto a narrow path. This path ascends steeply to another forest road that takes us to the parking lot at Bürgeralm. Directly at the barrier, a meadow path sharply turns left, running parallel to the previously taken forest road for about 30 meters — just slightly above it. The path gradually ascends along the forest edge near the terrain's edge directly to the Schönleitenhaus. The Windgrube behind it, at 1809 m, is about 20 m off the trail.
