Very cozy after-work route to a summit with a dreamy view of the Attersee - the view stretches over the lake to the Zimnitz and the Höllengebirge. Comfortable benches at the summit make relaxation in the sunshine perfect.
The start of the path can already be seen from the parking lot - straight ahead you first go briefly on the road towards the mountain, then straight on a forest trail; the Buchberg is already signposted. You then ascend this forest trail - partly leisurely, partly steep. On my trip, it was very slippery because it had rained the day before. After about 10 minutes, the forest trail turns into a forest road, which you follow left until another forest trail branches off to the right (marked with signs!). At first, it goes very leisurely through the forest, but then the path becomes very steep. The path merges into another forest road again, where you go a few meters to the right until another trail branches off to the left. This trail runs idyllically among birch forests up to the summit, which is reached after about 40 minutes of walking time in total.
The descent initially took a different route than the ascent - I went to the small hut at the summit and then descended to the right along a forest road. From there, the steep forest path branches off again, and the path reconnects.
