This hike opens up here, at the trailing end of the Brandenberger Alps, one of the most interesting aspects of the area. Contrast-rich, it combines the impressions of forest solitude during the ascent with the open view in the Buchacker area and the descent into the earth's interior at the only ice cave in Tyrol that can be visited. If the hike is extended over the ridge to the Höhlensteinhaus, there is a particularly beautiful deep view into the Inn Valley.
Starting from Kaiserhaus via the forest road, past the barrier, in the direction of the entrance to the Kaiserklamm. Before the entrance, which offers impressive views into the gorge, cross the bridge, continue on the forest road, slightly ascending eastwards to the former forestry hut. Here, at a marker, turn right and continue steeply uphill through the Hasa valley to the romantic spot of Schusterloch and further east to the visible Gasthof Buchackeralm. To the cave, we follow the alpine path further up the next switchback and turn left at a signpost. At the entrance to the ice cave, it is possible to penetrate the interior of the cave with a caving guide and a carbide lamp. The return route runs along the ascent path.
