It is a pleasant tour along easily traversable trail which goes through coniferous forest and allows one to get to grips with moderately high altitude due to gradual climb via long serpentine trails. The pay-off comes in the form of an attractive ridge on the Sofe summit, offering a view of the major portion of the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The summit of Trebević can be reached via the forest path in the area of Brus. From the mountain lodge Dobre Vode, one should take the left path and proceed along the serpentine trail leading to the summit. In some places, the trail acts as a detour and it also involves squeezing beneath the trunks along the path. It takes about 2 hours to reach the summit. The return path leads across the western ridge and the heliport in the direction of Brus.

One should stick to the marked trail leading to the ruins of the mountain resort for postal workers and Dobra Voda spring (1300 m above sea level). From Dobre Vode onwards one should follow the markings along the forest path to the left which subsequently becomes narrow and turns into a trail. The summit can be reached via the ridge. Upon moving further away from the summit, one should trail along the ridge next to telecommunications antenna and proceed down the road in the vicinity of an old heliport all the way to the large tower. You can move along the path towards more or less intact but deserted PD Željezničar Mountain Lodge which leads back to Dobra Voda and Brus via the path used for arriving at the destination.
