The easy access to Brünnstein is provided by the path from Rosengasse to the Sudelfeld area. In autumn it is particularly beautiful, as there are larch trees along the path that spread "autumn gold".
From the car park in front of the former mountain inn Rosengasse, 100 m uphill on a road to the right, then left on the alpine path to Rosengassenalm. There cross the stream where the actual trail begins. Pass left by the alpine pastures and again left uphill (marking 651, red). A stretch through the forest to a ridge. Over alpine meadows of Baumoosalm almost flat towards the southeast. At the next junction keep right and, passing the ruined Seeonalm, in a left curve through the southeast side of the Großer Traithen. After a slight ascent, we meet an alpine driving path. First flat, then slightly descending onto the meadows of the Himmelmoosalm. (There we have the first opportunity to take the ascent path to Brünnstein on the left.) Now a stretch further flat, then uphill left in a few minutes to the Brünnsteinhaus, somewhat hidden in the forest. Heinrich Bauregger, geboren 1951 im Berchtesgadener Land, studierte Germanistik und Geschichte (M.A.). Nach seinem Studium war er viele Jahre in Buchverlagen tätig (unter anderem auch beim Rother Bergverlag). Von Kindheit an in den Bergen wandernd unterwegs, lebte er seine Passion zunächst in den Alpen aus, dann folgten zahlreiche Trekkingtouren in den Bergen der Welt (Himalaya, Ostafrika, Mexiko, Anden). Schließlich entdeckte er die Abruzzen (Mittelitalien) als seine zweite Heimat („Tra Mare e Monti“). Heute lebt er abwechselnd in München und in Sulmona als freier Lektor und Autor. Er hat zahlreiche erfolgreiche Wander-, Rad- und Reisebücher verfasst.
