The Brørene (Brothers) are three differently high legendary peaks in the north of Hareidlandet Island in Sunnmøre, whose highest summit is the Søre Broren (also Store Broren – Big Brother). The hike offers views of the islands of Sunnmøre and up to the snow-covered Sunnmøre Alps. To the north, the mountain range drops extremely steeply down to Brørevatnet in the upper Flødalen, where our hike begins.
At the parking lot at Brørevatnet, we pass a cattle fence and continue walking along the road until we reach an enclosed pasture after a few meters. We turn left and walk along the pasture fence to the end of the pasture, where we orient ourselves on an old track that leads us eastward. Soon the track leads into a barely visible path that passes through marshy terrain. Wooden stakes with white-red markings help us with orientation. After a few altitude meters, we reach the Tørlingeskaret saddle, where a path comes from the left, and we turn right. The walking conditions significantly improve now, as the terrain is only marshy in a few spots. Our path leads us through diverse heath vegetation up to the Tørlingehaugane, first ascending the Litle Tørlingehaug and then the slightly higher Tørlingehaugen.
