The Braggstein is a first-class viewing platform that impresses on one hand with a close-up view of the massive southern walls of the Steinernes Meer, and on the other hand with a distant view of the snow-covered Tauern mountain range.
From Rohrmoos, one hikes on an alpine road to the right of the creek, following the signposts "Wasserfallscharte 426, Selbhorn 427, Lechneralm, Braggstein" upstream, at the first fork in the path keep right and immediately after left. About halfway to the alpine pasture, you can choose the comfortable route along the road or the steep and strenuous variant to the right through the forest. Shortly before the Lechneralm both routes rejoin. At the hairpin bend before the alpine pasture, the path to Braggstein branches off. Over meadows, you ascend to a hunting lodge, behind which you go – keep left at forks – through forest, over meadows and through a pine belt to the Braggstein. The descent follows the ascent route.
