The route starts at the train station in Bodensdorf and follows the bike path westwards to St. Urban to the boat dock. The railway and federal road are crossed there and along the Burgweg you reach behind the Gasthof Urbani the hiking and route starting point below the Klettergarten Peterelewand. You follow the climb to the climbing garden (trail no. 2 and 7) and reach the rock faces after fifteen minutes which offer a small but fine selection for entry for via ferrata climbers and sport climbers.
The path bypasses the wall on the climb and crosses over to the right to the pavilion with a wonderful view of the eastern shore of Lake Ossiach. A particularly beautiful view of the species-rich Bleistätter Moor. Over the small iron ladder it goes a little more gently to Peterl (house no. 19). You follow the driveway directly opposite and reach over a grassy climb a farm and the Deutschberg Straße / the Gasthof Stoffwirt.
At the Stoffwirt parking lot the initially damp meadow path begins and flows back into the Deutschberg Straße at the Matthiasl holiday apartments, which you follow for a hairpin turn. Shortly thereafter, turn right again onto a forest road (trail no. 3) to the first junction. Here you go left uphill again on trail no. 7, crossing the Deutschberg Straße once more until you reach the toll station.
From here you follow the constant climb - again you meet Deutschberg Straße - until trail no. 7 merges into trail no. 37. You now continue to follow the signage uphill until the junction trail no. 42 and take this for a few minutes to the Seppl hut.
After a generous stopover nothing stands in the way of the descent via the former ski slope area (trail no. 42). The path crosses trail no. 3 once more and leads down a forest road with long switchbacks to Tratten near Bodensdorf. Via Saint Joseph and 10th October Street you reach the tourist information office Bodensdorf at the town hall and in a few minutes walk back to the train station as the starting point of the route.
