The Blindbach is an interesting stream about 10 km long, which originates in Oberholz on the Neustadtler Platte and flows into the Mühlbach or the Ybbs near Blindenmarkt.
The Neustadtler Platte geologically belongs to the Mühlviertel. At the northern municipal boundary of Neustadtl, the Danube has carved its bed into the granite in the Strudengau.
The granite extends to the Ybbsfeld, and with the Blindbach there is a stream to admire in the Mostviertel that has a Mühlviertel-Waldviertel character.
Author’s recommendation
Then you might want to shorten it and start in Führamühl.
Unfortunately, visiting the sand caves is no longer permitted.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

Roadbook
We start in Prasdorf, to the right of the Blindbach, going under the motorway.
We are now on the hiking trail No. 8 marked by the Blindenmarkt Alpine Club, which begins in the town center at the Raiffeisen bank and which we follow almost to Scheiterbichl.
We walk past some houses, after 800 m a right curve, here the hiking trail goes down to the left to the Blindbach and along the Blindbach to the horse farm in Führamühl.
Further into the Weitgraben (at a signpost we go straight ahead, on the farm road from the right we should come down on the way back).
Now comes the most interesting part of the Blindbach, a beautiful gorge, to the right the Aichberg (Bannholz) and to the left the Steinberg.
We stay right of the stream, at two houses we come onto open meadows and soon we are at the chapel next to the Öhlsitz mill.
We leave the valley of the Blindbach to the right, after 300 m a wayside cross, at this sharply to the right to a farmstead and continue following the markings through open meadows until we reach a road.
On this 200 m northwards, at the next intersection continue to follow the markings to the right to a crossroads in the forest.
Here the hiking trail 8 goes a little straighter ahead. We leave it and take the first path on the right, which (poorly marked) follows a beautiful small stream bed.
Shortly before the Weitgraben settlement, a fish pond on the left, in Weitgraben we cross the road leading from Blindenmarkt to Scheiterbichl and follow the marking until we come back to the Blindbach.
Now it goes back on the already known path, past the horse farm.
After crossing the stream, we come back onto the road before the last houses, which leads from Prasdorf to Fürholz.
Right by the road is a small parking lot.
In my original description I recommended visiting the sand caves here.
These have been closed in 2021 due to risk of collapse.
Therefore, we walk back on the road to the left of the Blindbach to Prasdorf.
