From the Cologne Eifel hut to Odenbachstraße and always uphill, past the Aachen Eifel hut, until behind the last house a path leads left up to the forest edge. Along the forest edge to the St. Hubertus wayside shrine. Straight ahead further over a path, past a shelter hut downhill towards the Rur valley. Before a stream a trail branches off to the left, leading via steps to the field path in the valley floor. Follow this to the left and at the campground you reach the street from Blens to Hausen. Over the Rur bridge it continues straight into Hausen and uphill, past the castle to the church. Opposite the church St. Nikolaus Street leads upwards, which you follow to the first left curve, where a path goes right uphill.
The path ends in a forest track, which you continue to the left. After 100 meters a path branches off to the right behind, from which after 50 meters a forest track branches off to the left behind. This leads straight to a fenced meadow, which you have to bypass on the right. Almost directly opposite the forest track continues uphill. Always staying on this path you reach the clearing of the pipeline and the high-voltage line. Shortly after the clearing you turn left at the four-way junction, cross the clearing a second time, and reach the forest edge where a shelter hut with a beautiful view invites you to rest.
You follow the path to the plateau up to the street (cross), along it about 200 meters to the left to a sunken path, which leads left down into the valley in two bends. Always downhill, you soon reach the tarmac road you just left. Follow it always downhill until it no longer goes straight ahead. Opposite at the forest edge you see the Krefeld Eifel hut. You turn right up the valley to the next fork (benches), where the path to the left still leads upwards and ends in a deep sunken path. Always uphill to the next field path, which you follow left in a curve (with rocks). At the top it goes shortly after a right turn to a junction always along the forest edge (the path is hardly used anymore and has been "swallowed" by the meadow), up to the end of the meadow. Here we follow the path left into the forest (orient here according to the GPS!), which soon bends to the right. Ahead now lies the beginning of the ridge, which you reach on traces of paths and initially follow left on a height. Past a small rock head always along the ridge downhill, later steeper, you meet below a forest track above Hausen, which runs parallel above the L249 in the forest.
Here it goes right always on the same height to the next side valley. You can enter the valley either through the gates of the fence or, if the gates are locked, left past the fence down. Having reached the bottom you follow the forest road steeply uphill in the side valley until you reach district road 48. Turn left along district road about 100 meters until a field path branches off to the right. On this until the second path on the left. Continue past three paths to the left and out of the forest. Then half-left back to the K48, crossing it along the forest edge. The first road to the right again and the next path left downhill into the Rosstal. At the bottom it continues left past the first houses of Abenden further to the street "Im Düstal".
The path ends after a right curve on Hausener Gasse and after a zigzag you cross the L249 from Heimbach to Nideggen. On the other side of the street it goes left after 100 meters over steps right down to a field path, which runs parallel to the Rur valley railway. On this to the left to Rurstraße, which leads right over the Rur valley railway and later the Rur bridge back to the starting point.
