Thanks to the cable car from Zaglau to Bischlinghöhe, an alpine pasture and hut hike on the south side of the Tennengebirge is available from the mountain station, which mostly goes downhill and is therefore very popular.
From the mountain station at Bischlinghöhe, after a summit visit, we hike westward around it and along a ski slope down to the Ladenbergsattel, then past the flat ridge of Ladenberg again westward, over mountain pastures northwards down to the Alm of the same name and towards the unmistakable Prokschhaus. We bypass it on the right or left and descend to a saddle. Now follows a small ascent over the Mayrhofalm to the wayside shrine at Schnapfenriedel. Behind this, the road descends to the Laubichlalm and then crosses the large kar depression coming down from the Tauernscharte to the Brandstättalm. Immediately before this, the path to the Hackelhütte branches off to the right. It rises briefly over a ridge and then runs across mountain pastures to the accommodation. Immediately before that, we meet the supply track, which leads us down to the saddle by the Mühlbacheralm. Hikers in a hurry reach this faster if they continue straight on the track at Brandstättalm.
