The "Birsl-Runde" is a relatively short hike in the Vöcklatal and back to the starting point via Oberthumberg.
The name "Birsl-Runde" originates from a house name on whose land a large part of the hiking route leads.
Out of consideration for the hunters, the hiking trail should not be used before 7:00 am and not after 7:00 pm!
The hike leads from the parking lot near the village of Stipplmühl in Neukirchen an der Vöckla along the Mixentalerbach to its confluence with the Vöckla. At the confluence of the Mixentalerbach with the Vöckla, the Vöckla makes a bend (called "Reit" colloquially) hence the name "Reittümple" (so it does not come from riding).
Now it goes a few hundred meters along the Vöckla to the so-called "Furtherbrücke" (Further Bridge). The name "Furtherbrücke" comes from the original designation of the village "Furth" in today's village of Fischhamering in Gampern. Presumably, there was indeed a ford here as a crossing over the Vöckla.
At the "Furtherbrücke" the hike turns left and climbs gently into the village Oberthumberg. When passing through Oberthumberg, the "Birslhaus" stands on the left, from which the name "Birsl-Runde" originates.
The hike then goes a few hundred meters north to the district road and then sharply turns left towards Stipplmühl back to the starting point.
