After about 2 km, we reach the ruins of the hermitage, which was, so to speak, a branch of the Bebenhausen Monastery. We continue across the Bromberg plateau to the Altdorf water reservoir. Just a few steps further on, a rest area with a barbecue site invites us to take a break. We continue on to the Orkan Wiebke Stone. We leave the forest and hike through fields, meadows, and the Schönbuch golf course back to the starting point at the Schaichhof parking lot. There is also a rest area with a barbecue site here.
Birkensee can be reached via a detour from the main trail (not signposted). Since there are numerous rare plant and animal species in the Birkensee area, we ask all visitors to stay on the boardwalk, refrain from picking anything, and not leave any trash behind. Thank you very much.
The Birkensee Loop is signposted in both directions. There is a shortcut that is also signposted.

Refreshments available at the Schönbuch Golf ClubAlternatively, you can start the loop trail at the parking lot right next to the Schönbuch Golf Club. A path leading to the loop trail is clearly marked.
Roadbook
Starting from the Schaichhof parking lot, we follow the wide forest road south until the path splits. There, keep right! After about 2 km you reach the remains of the hermitage, essentially a branch of the Bebenhausen monastery. Then continue across the Bromberg plateau to the Altdorf water reservoir. Just a few steps further, a resting place with a barbecue invites you to take a break. Then continue to the Orkan Wiebke stone. We leave the forest and walk through fields, meadows, and the Schönbuch golf course back to the starting point at Schaichhof parking lot. There is also a resting place with a barbecue here.
The Birkensee can be reached by a detour from the actual trail (not signposted). Since there are many rare plant and animal species in the Birkensee area, we kindly ask all visitors not to leave the boardwalk, not to pick anything, and not to leave any trash. Thank you very much.
