Between Einfeld and Bordesholm
The starting point of this hike is Einfeld, today a district of Neumünster with just under 8,000 inhabitants, located directly at the southern end of Einfelder See. The hiking trail then follows the quiet western shore of Einfelder See and leads over Mühbrook to Bordesholmer See, where the famous monastery church also stands on the western shore. It continues always near the shore through Bordesholm. Through fields and forest, we finally reach the highlight of the tour south of Bordesholm, the unique natural monument Dosenmoor, the best-preserved raised bog in Schleswig-Holstein. From there the path leads back to Einfeld.
From the station briefly southwards to the railway crossing, then right along a curve towards Einfelder Schanze (L 318). At the junction of Seekamp street, we change to the other side of the road and walk a little alongside Einfelder Schanze. Then the Strandallee branches off to the left, which takes us to the path around Einfelder See. On this path we continue left, along the back of properties. After a left curve we reach a boat dock below Seekamp. Then the footpath circles the southern end of the lake with a right curve and runs parallel to the lakeside road. Along it are house no. 13 with an interesting farmhouse garden and house no. 19, the listed Villa Hornung built in 1912.At the edge of Einfeld, before a parking lot, we turn right onto a wide sandy path. Soon on the left the semicircular Margarethenschanze appears, an old rampart from the 9th/10th century. Then the hiking trail winds several times along the western edge of the nature reserve on the west bank of Einfelder See.
