From the collegiate church, you pass the town hall (former princely court) and after a short steep climb, walk halfway up through former vineyards, past orchard meadows with splendid views of the castle, Waldenhausen and the Tauber Valley. After a short passage through the forest, you reach sun-drenched dry stone walls. From the chapel, you hike past Reicholzheim to the legendary 14 stone crosses.
The path through the steep slopes of the Reicholzheim Satzenberg rewards you with great views of Bronnbach Monastery before you reach Schafhof. Along the Bronnbach stream, it goes the last stretch downhill to Bronnbach Monastery in the valley.
(Return by train on the other side of the Tauber is possible.)
The way back takes you directly to the chapel and then briefly uphill over fields and woods to Haidhof and the White Tower. At the end, it goes downhill to Wertheim Castle with rewarding views of the old town and the Tauber confluence into the Main.

Roadbook
The starting point of the hike is the collegiate church. From here, follow "Mühlenstraße" towards the Glass Museum, Town Hall, pass the Wertheim utility company and after about 100 meters turn left into Mühlensteige. After a short steep climb, you reach a plateau with a resting bench and now take the right hiking trail marked "LT 3". (Follow this trail the entire way to Bronnbach Monastery.)
On a beautiful meadow path with views over the Tauber Valley, you walk to a marked left fork. Take this fork and you will find yourself in the former vineyards of Walzenberg. Take a break at one of the many benches and enjoy the wonderful view of Waldenhausen with its fortified church.
After a short forest section, you reach sun-drenched dry stone walls. Your next destination is the Trinity Chapel of Reicholzheim. Here the path forks. Take the left fork and shortly after, take the left path again. This leads you past Reicholzheim to the legendary 14 stone crosses. At the next fork, turn right and make a detour through the steep slopes of the Reicholzheim Satzenberg. You will be rewarded with great views of Bronnbach Monastery. Once back on the main path, turn right along the edge of the forest. After crossing the main road, you reach Schafhof. Through a wooded area, it goes downhill to Bronnbach Monastery. Take a break here in the restaurant or join a monastery tour.
(Return by train on the other side of the Tauber is possible.)
On the way back, follow the signs of the "Panorama Hiking Trail Lovely Tauber Valley" (white boot on red background). The first section to the chapel in Reicholzheim resembles the outward route (except the detour in the Satzenberg vineyard, which you skip). At the chapel, go straight up the hill briefly. Follow the path through forest and fields to "Rittelhöhe". At this crossing, go straight ahead. At the end of the forest, you reach a transmission mast, continue straight here. At the next crossing, please follow the detour sign to reach Haidhof and the White Tower and then Wertheim Castle. End your route on the beautiful castle terrace with wonderful views or take the footpath down to the collegiate church to return to your starting point.
