From the highest point of this short discovery tour, an impressive view over the Wertach valley and into the Ammergau and Tannheim mountains awaits. The most prominent feature is the Zugspitze.
From the town hall in Aitrang, 745 m, we follow the hiking route towards Wenglingen. Behind the railway underpass, it goes gently uphill on a traffic-free small road, later on an agricultural road with a beautiful mountain panorama from the Kirnachtal to some hidden fish ponds. A meadow track and a field path lead us to the hamlet of Wenglingen, 764 m.We soon leave the agricultural road at the Rosina Chapel turnoff to the right onto a forest path that takes us to another pond. We keep straight ahead uphill before the road on the now longer ascent. On a hill, we turn right onto the road from Apfeltrang, which we immediately leave again on the forest path signposted "Bergmang-Alpe." This section of the Swabian-Allgäu Hiking Trail narrows at times to a charming passage with blue marking crosses.From the excursion inn Bergmangalp, 850 m, a pathless meadow crossing leads towards Ruderatshofen and the mountains.
