The "Baumwipfel-Tour"/stroller route is an 8 km circular route, suitable for adults and children and accessible with a stroller. The route leads around the village of Fischbach and the area around the former Biosphärenhaus with the treetop path. However, the facility is closed.
The stroller route runs on paved and unpaved service roads as well as meadow paths and hiking trails.

From the parking lot at the Biosphärenhaus in Fischbach, the stroller route/Baumwipfel-Tour initially leads into the Spießwoogtal and follows here the Biosphären-Erlebnisweg. It then leads over the premium hiking trail "Brunnen- und Quellenweg" back to Fischbach. From there over the Münchmatt-Park onto the Wasser-Erlebnisweg and back again to the Biosphärenhaus, the starting point of the tour. The total length of the "Baumwipfel-Tour" is 8 km. (A shortcut is given, so that the total length of the tour is reduced to about 6 km - see detailed route description).

A visit to the Biosphärenhaus with its exhibition "Nature-Show-Play" as well as the experience on the treetop path is an absolute must on this tour and a special highlight.

UFFBASSE! - Campaign for a considerate coexistence in nature

Always behave in a forward-looking, friendly and considerate manner towards everyone you meet on the way.

Pay attention to nature, do not destroy plants and always stay on the paths.

Remember a garbage bag for the way and take waste back home with you.

Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Please observe all path closures for your own safety. Also on weekends.

Park only in designated parking lots. Leave space for emergency routes and agricultural machinery.

Please give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

    Safety information

Especially in autumn, it should be noted that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may fall afterward. Especially under adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you consider particular sections of the path to be impassable for you, you should avoid them. Despite the "unmistakable" marking of the premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable hiking map for safety reasons so that, for example, you can quickly find a safe area during a thunderstorm or emergency.

    NOTE:

We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work, hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you encounter closures or detours on site, please follow the instructions for your own safety.

    Roadbook

From the parking lot marked "Wasgau SeenTour", past the Biosphärenhaus, on a section of the "Biosphären-Erlebnisweg" through the Spießwoogtal to the Spießwoogweiher. Here, follow the marking of the premium route "Wasgau SeenTour" and turn left onto the service road, continuing through the Schlettenbacher Tal, past several ponds to the fork at rescue point 414. Now turn left following the "red-white bar" marking onto an asphalted service road to the Wolfsägetal.
(Shortcut possibility: Here turn left onto an asphalted service road to Fischbach. Through Dahner Street and Main Street back to the parking lot at the Biosphärenhaus. Hiking distance then about 6 km)

Main route - Cross to the other side of the valley and then turn left onto the service road with the marking of the premium route "Brunnen und Quellenweg". Shortly before the village, turn right and continue on the hiking trail with the same marking to Fischbach, crossing Bitscher Street to the Sauertal. Shortly after the houses you will reach the "Münchmatt-Park" in the Sauertal. Here, immediately turn left onto the first meadow path and continue on this meadow path without markings to the sports and soccer field. Just after the sports and soccer field, turn right to the bridge over the "Sauerbach" and then go straight ahead to the asphalted service road. Now the route leads left onto the service road; shortly after you will meet again the marking "Brunnen und Quellenweg" and then to the country road. Now the road is crossed and the route leads with the marking "Brunnen und Quellenweg" along a meadow path through a beautiful valley landscape and also a section over the "Wasser-Erlebnisweg" back to the parking lot at the Biosphärenhaus, the starting point of the stroller route.

    Equipment

Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, as well as sufficient supplies of food and drinks should be carried in case no refreshment or shopping options are available or open. Although the path is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always have a suitable hiking map with you.
