The circular route is marked as SchweizMobil route 502. It starts at the Kurhaus Balmberg. On the ascent to Nesselbodenröti, the Rötifluh offers a view into the geology of the Solothurn Jura. Near Nesselbodenröti at point 1223, those who wish can make a detour to the impressive viewpoint Balmfluechöppli. Biel, Neuchâtel, and Murten lakes appear close enough to touch from up there. The Röti, with a triangulation point, is then reached after a short counter-ascent. It is recommended to sit a bit longer here and enjoy the beautiful view: the gaze sweeps over the Vosges, Black Forest, to the huge steam cloud of the Gösgen nuclear power plant. From the Röti, the path gently descends to Weissenstein with its hotel and the upper station of the Weissenstein cable car.

After a glass of wine and a light meal at Hotel Weissenstein, the route leads back to the starting point via the Balmberg pass height. Before returning, a visit to the Jura garden directly under the terrace of Hotel Weissenstein is worthwhile. There you can see the 200 plants typical for the Solothurn Jura and the surrounding areas. Lovingly maintained and labeled from June to September, the plants, which show various colors depending on the season, create a wonderful picture in the terraced garden.

The PostBus can also be exclusively rented for group trips, and on Balmberg, the rope park invites groups and families to enjoy fun in the Jura forest.
