Baar-Ebenhausen – Pfaffenhofen
In the Hallertau, there aren't many opportunities for a meaningful point-to-point hike from station to station – mainly because there are hardly any railway lines. One of the pleasant exceptions is the tour from Baar-Ebenhausen to Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, which also represents a hike from the Paar Valley to the Ilm Valley. Both towns lie on the Munich–Ingolstadt railway line and are easily and quickly accessible from both directions. After the densely built-up opening stage including Baar-Ebenhausen, Reichertshofen, and the B 300 road, tranquil landscapes follow with the beautiful village of Puch and notably many wayside crosses. Afterwards, you pass through a secluded area with forests and fields before ascending to the ridge above Pfaffenhofen. While a little earlier you could still look north to the heights of the Franconian Alb, on the last stretch of the tour the Alps are visible. The tour ends in the old town of Pfaffenhofen, from where it's only a ten-minute walk to the station after a hearty stopover.
We start on the east side of the Baar-Ebenhausen station and walk along the tracks southwards. We encounter Münchener Straße and follow it to the right, crossing the tracks towards Reichertshofen, where we then turn left into Sandrartstraße. Those who do not want to go into the center of Reichertshofen with its dining and shopping options on this street turn left again after about 150 m and go under the tracks to the district of Altstockau and the Paar river. Immediately after, we turn right into the riverbank path that takes us along the river and again under the tracks to the Reichertshofen district east of the Paar. We stay by the riverbank, cross Münchener Straße, and now follow a path along a tributary of the Paar until we have to turn left before the fire station towards the industrial area. Next, we follow the road south out of Reichertshofen and take the second street to the right, which leads us over the B 300. On the other side, we turn right towards Agelsberg and after 250 m
