The small town of Avenches deserves our visit. The castle stands next to the arena, a place for various festivities.
We leave Avenches to the south heading towards Oleyres. The view gradually opens onto the Swiss plateau, particularly over the Broye valley. From this village, we cross the magnificent Grand Belmont forest and then pass by a small chapel: Notre Dame de Tours.
While crossing Corcelles-sud, we are drawn to an antique dealer’s shop that's worth visiting. A true treasure trove of all kinds of objects. For vintage lovers, it’s nirvana. After a new area of increasingly modern villas, we head to Payerne station, thus reaching the end of our hike.
