Asturias - The Mill Route

The route commences in Rozadas. Take the road to El Segredal, where you take a path off to the left leading to a small wood. After crossing the river and walking for a few minutes, you come to the first mills: Molín de Matilde, Molín de Barrial, Molín de Flora, Molín del Ferreru and Molín de Máxima. On the horizon, the imposing peaks of Peñamayor Range can be glimpsed through abundant vegetation. A few kilometres into the hike near the end of the trail can be found the mill called Molín de Milio or de Fermina, which has been perfectly restored and fitted out to display the tools and mechanisms used in traditional Asturian milling. There is a table with a bench here to rest and get your strength back. At this point, the trail intersects the Peña del Hombre Trail. Continuing on upstream, you then come to the last mill on the route, Molín de Honorio, where a path to the left leads to the village of Melendreros, the end of the trail. The return trip to La Llera is along the same path.
