We start at the "Am Wingert" car park, pass the Keßler and Engelmann wineries, then after 0.3 km keep right and follow the ascending path until we reach the statue of the Mother of God after 1 km. From here, it is another 0.3 km to Bubenhäuser Höhe, where we can enjoy the beautiful view into the Rhine Valley on one of the numerous benches and rest areas.
We follow the Heinzentalweg slightly downhill to the chapel at Neuen Weg (1.8 km). There we meet the Rheinsteig, which we follow to the former forest inn Rausch (1 km). Along the Sülzbach, we walk the sunny path to the salt spring with nice rest facilities (1 km) and continue down the valley until after 1 km we turn left and follow the connecting path for 0.8 km.
At the large intersection we reach, we meet the Hessenweg No. 1, which leads us through the forest above the Kiedricher Bach to the vineyards by the Scharfenstein castle ruins (2.5 km).
Below the castle tower is the most beautiful wine view Rheingau 2016 with a series of rest areas and a great view over Kiedrich to the Rhine.
We descend to Kiedrich and follow the Kiedricher Bach to the Basilica Minor St. Valentinus, whose visit is very worthwhile (1.2 km). From the basilica, we follow the Hessenweg No. 7 for 1.9 km until we turn left at the tennis facility and follow the path below the vineyards for 1.3 km. A short ascent signals the remaining trail of 1.4 km back to the starting point.
