Around Sattelbogen

From the hiking parking lot in Sattelbogen, go via Angerleiten street towards Obergoßzell. We follow the street through the village and turn left at the main street. After about 500 meters, continue right at a bus company. We follow the street out of the village. The path goes gently uphill. After about 1 km, a small paved road goes down the hill to the left. At the bottom, continue left on the state road. We follow the road to the right junction to Wieden. Pass through Wieden and then continue left towards Knotthof. After Knotthof, go uphill. After about 1 km, turn right onto a small field path "Kesselweg". We reach Höhhof and cross the main street, continuing towards Atzenzell. At the entrance to Atzenzell, turn right towards Kronwitt. Walk through the village and just before the village sign, turn left. We reach the highest point of the route on a hill (water reservoir) with beautiful views in all directions. Continue down the street and at the end, turn left again. In Atzenzell, we now reach the hiking marking TR1. Follow this to the end. Descend the mountain via Schönferchen and then follow a small path through the forest by a small pond. We continue on TR1 and go uphill in a forest towards Thannet. After Thannet, it is not far, and we reach the trailhead uphill again. Unfortunately, the markings are missing for the first 9 KM, but since the route is only on small roads, orientation is not difficult. In Atzenzell, follow TR1 to the end.
