For the round trip presented here, open eyes are needed to appreciate the beauties of a forested river valley that we walk through from Rastenfeld to the Bruckmühle, past the proud Rastenberg Castle.
From the market square in Rastenfeld follow the red-marked road with trail no. 1 and 665 about 100 m west to a fork. Straight ahead the asphalt road through the village downhill, later over fields to a solitary tree (seating area). Left onto a greened driveway down a forest ditch into the valley of the Purzelkamp, 498 m. Before the bridge, turn left and follow the marked driveway "Mühlsteig" with no. 1, 80a ("Nature-Energy-Power-Path") and 665 along the stream bank southwards in the forest to the Schöpfermühle and from there to the asphalt road. On this, follow a side ditch uphill east to the bridge, then turn left over the stream. Sharp right and along the marked forest road ("Burgsteig") above the Purzelkamp valley to a hill and on the other side down again to the Purzelkamp. Left of it on the forest driveway level southwards to the natural road (ruined house) at the foot of Rastenberg Castle and then right to the through road. On it, keep right over the Purzelkamp, then turn left
