One of the most beautiful high-altitude trails around Cortina is the circular path around Monte Pelmo. The constantly changing views of the Dolomite giants justify every praise of this promenade over Val Zoldana Alta, Val Bòite, and the Ampezzo. Only one thing you will not be able to admire on it is Pelmo itself, which towers overwhelmingly and colossally above our heads. The Sentiero Gino Flaibani requires sure-footed hikers, otherwise there are hardly any problems on this hike, provided the weather is reasonably good.
From the Tiera parking lot, follow the forest road (no vehicles allowed!) No. 468 slowly uphill westwards to the meadows around Tabià Tiera, 1271 m, with a wonderful view of Pelmo, Sorapiss, Marmarole, and Antelao. The road to the left above Val Orsolina along the wooded slopes of Crepe de Ruton partly in switchbacks uphill west to the junction at Ponte intrà les Àgnes, 1379 m, at the confluence of Rio Faon and Rio Corotto. Turn left and follow the stony trail No. 468 through Val de Forada through bushes and sparse forest in a southwesterly direction increasingly steeply uphill (the ruined Casera Corotto remains on the right) to the tree line. The valley now rises through meadows and larches, later steeply over scree to Forc. Forada, 1977 m. Beyond, follow trail No. 468 along the flanks of Crèpes dei Bèche first west, then downhill north to Rif. Città di Fiume, 1918 m. Back again to Forc. Forada and, without crossing the saddle, take trail No. 480 (Sent. Gino Flaibani) downhill
