From the top of the Forcella Staulanza pass, we first hike on a comfortable high-level trail along the south side of Monte Pelmo through sparse mountain forest, mountain pine fields and beautiful, panoramic mountain meadows to the serviced Rifugio Venezia. On the way, we can still take the approximately 20-minute detour to 200 million-year-old dinosaur tracks on a rock slab at the foot of Monte Pelmetto. From the mountain hut, where you can rest and enjoy the magnificent view of the Cristallo, Sorapiss and Antelao groups, the more demanding part of the circuit begins. Below mighty rock faces, we cross scree fields and a rocky ledge secured with wire ropes to the Forcella Val d' Arcia. Here we have an impressive view of the 800 m high north face of Monte Pelmo. The descent back to Forcella Staulanza is over large scree fields and through sparse mountain forest in the face of this mighty wall.
