The route goes around Lalling and is especially a highlight in spring during the fruit tree blossom season. From Lalling, it goes to Euschertsfurth and then down to the Hengersberger Ohe. This section is a real highlight. It continues via Kaußing to Gerholling and back to Lalling. From there, it goes up to Panholling, where you can admire the fruit tree blossoms in full splendor. It continues uphill to Guntherstein, where St. Gunther once lived. A forest path leads back, then we reach the district of Züding and it is not far to Lalling anymore.
TOP ROUTE with lots of fruit tree blossoms and the Guntherstein.
Around Lalling
Our route begins today in Lalling on St. Gunther Str. next to the soccer field. We follow the Gunthersteig towards Euschertsfurth and pass the Feng Shui Park. A small side street takes us to Euschertsfurth and we can already see the "fruit tree blossom" everywhere. The Lallinger Winkel is known as the fruit bowl of Lower Bavaria. A dream, especially in spring. In Euschertsfurth, we turn right and enter a beautiful deciduous forest. It goes down a few meters and we reach the old power station. Now begins a very beautiful part of our route. For the next kilometers, it follows along the Hengersberger Ohe. A super-beautiful section. Shortly before Kaußinger Mühle, the trail "Red 3" leads us right up a small hill and via a small road we reach Kaußing. We continue following "Red 3" and pass many information boards in a woodland area. The next locality is called Gerholling, where we change to the Goldsteig and walk over a small forest path back to Lalling. Shortly before the village, you can use a Kneipp basin :-). Passing through the village, we are already below the church and meet the Gunthersteig again, which we follow from now on. It goes past the church and just behind it you have a nice view of Panholling, our next stop. At Panholling, there is a fruit orchard experience garden with many fruit trees, and today was a very special day. They are in full blossom. We stay here for a long time, enjoy the beautiful views and take countless photos. We continue on the Gunthersteig and reach a forest area, then go over a meadow uphill. Now begins a steeper and rockier ascent through a beautiful deciduous forest. After reaching a forest road, we turn left for a detour. We walk about half a kilometer along the forest road and then uphill again to Guntherstein. The path is very well signposted and via stone steps we reach Guntherstein. St. Gunther is said to have spent part of his life here. There is also a resting place at the top. Again, a really beautiful spot. After a short break, we return the good half kilometer on the same path. At the trail junction, we leave the Gunthersteig and follow the forest road marked "Red 12". It goes gently uphill and then makes a long curve. We cross two small creeks and now be careful. After the second creek, a path leads right into the forest. It is NOT marked but very well trodden and can hardly be overlooked. We cross over stones across the two creeks and always downhill. Lower down, the path becomes wider and leads us directly onto the Goldsteig hiking trail, which we follow straight ahead and downhill. Along a beautiful forest path and a field path, we pass Zeckenstein. Shortly after, we leave the Goldsteig to the left and now follow hiking trail "Red 12", leading us to the district of Züding. We walk to the main street, then turn right. The path is now marked with a green triangle. A small road takes us back to Lalling, and shortly after entering the village, we turn left onto St. Gunther-Str. and have reached our starting point.
